Privacy Policy

Overview

Blood Snap is a free wellness logging app. Your health readings are personal. We do not sell your BP, glucose, or weight data. The app is supported by advertising (Google AdMob) on most screens; camera and voice logging flows do not show ads.

What we collect

Health data you enter

  • Blood pressure, blood sugar, and weight readings
  • Notes, meal context, medicine schedules, and reminder settings
  • Account email when you sign in (email, Google, or Apple)

On your device

Readings are stored locally so the app works offline. When you sign in, data syncs to Firebase (Google Cloud) under your account ID. You can delete your account and cloud data from Settings → Delete Account.

Camera / Snap entry

Snap entry uses your camera to photograph a monitor display. Blood Snap runs on-device OCR (Google ML Kit) first. When you allow Snap & voice AI parsing in the app, recognized OCR text from your monitor may be sent to Groq, Inc. to extract numbers. If parsing still fails, a cropped portion of the image may also be sent. You always review and confirm before anything is saved.

Voice entry

Voice logging uses on-device speech recognition. When you allow Snap & voice AI parsing, the transcript (not audio) is sent to Groq, Inc. to parse numbers into a log form. You review every value before saving. Transcripts are not kept beyond the request. If you decline, local regex parsing is used where possible.

AI summaries & Health Guide

When you allow AI wellness summaries, plain-language text on the Dashboard and Insights is generated via Groq from your logged trends and optional profile fields (age, gender, height, BMI). Non-English Health Guide translation also sends guide educational text to Groq. Outputs are labeled as wellness guidance only — not medical advice.

Your permission

Before any personal data is sent to Groq, the app shows an in-app dialog explaining what is sent, who receives it, and asks for your permission. Privacy policy text alone is not sufficient — consent is collected in the app. You can manage consent in Settings → Privacy & AI.

Advertising (AdMob)

The free app shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads. Your health readings are not shared with advertisers for targeting. You can learn more in Google's Privacy Policy and ad settings on your device.

Website analytics

We use Google Tag Manager / Analytics on bloodsnap.com for anonymous site usage. This does not include app health readings.

Waitlist and email

If you join our website waitlist, we collect your email to notify you about the app. You can unsubscribe from any message we send.

How we use your data

  • To provide logging, history, charts, exports, reminders, and medicine tracking
  • To sync data across your devices when signed in
  • To generate AI wellness summaries (not medical diagnosis)
  • To show ads that support the free app
  • To send product emails you opted into

Third-party services

  • Firebase (Google) — authentication and cloud database for signed-in users
  • Groq, Inc. — AI summaries, snap/voice parsing, and guide translation (only with in-app consent)
  • Google AdMob — in-app advertising
  • Google ML Kit — on-device OCR for snap entry (does not send images to Groq)
  • Resend — transactional website emails
  • Google Tag Manager / Analytics — website analytics only

Data retention and deletion

On-device data remains until you uninstall or clear app storage. Cloud data is removed when you delete your account in the app or request deletion by email. Waitlist emails are removed when you unsubscribe.

Children

Blood Snap is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes may be communicated via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
